This year, SHED and its financial partners are again hosting their popular four-part online Home Ownership Education Series, designed to give current and future homeowners the knowledge and tools they need to succeed.
The series will begin on March 13, 2025, with Budgeting Essentials, an interactive session led by Tim Clavin of St. Louis Community Credit Union. During June’s webinar, Maximizing Your Home’s Value, local experts will discuss how to make smart upgrades, attract buyers, and fund your home improvements, as well as provide remodeling tips that deliver the best return on investment. In August, Rachel Waterman of Legal Services of Eastern Missouri returns with Protecting Your Property, where she shares essential estate planning tips every homeowner should know.
The series will conclude on October 16, 2025, with Appraisals vs. Inspections, as Gail Brown of Brown-Kortkamp Realty explains the differences between appraisals and inspections and answers important questions like:
• Do I need to have an inspection?
• What do appraisers and inspectors look for?
• How can a low appraisal or poor inspection affect my purchase?
